Accessibility statement

Accessible and adaptable.

Empathletic exists so that movement works for every mind and every body. That goal applies to this website and to every session. If something doesn’t work for you, tell Dion and it will be adapted.

Our commitment

Dion’s aim is for everything about Empathletic to be accessible and adaptable: the website, how you get in touch, and the training itself. There is no single “right way” to take part. You can ask for changes at any point, and you never need to explain or justify why.

This website

This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That is the widely used standard for accessible websites. Here’s what that looks like in practice:

  • You can use the whole site with a keyboard alone. A “Skip to main content” link appears when you press Tab.
  • A clear outline shows which link or button you’re on.
  • The site works with screen readers. Images have text descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Every form field has a visible label. If something needs fixing, the form tells you what and where.
  • If your device is set to reduce motion, the site turns off its animations.
  • Text colors are chosen for strong contrast, and the page still works when you zoom in to 200% or more.
  • We write in plain language and avoid jargon.
  • The site works on phones, tablets and computers.

Getting in touch

You can contact Dion in whatever way feels most comfortable. That might be a phone call, a text, an email, a video call or the contact form. If you find phone calls hard, you never have to make one. The free discovery call can happen entirely over text if that’s easier.

Sessions

Every session can be adapted to you. For example:

  • Location: your home, a recreation gym, a quiet fencing gym or outdoors. If you use a wheelchair or mobility aid, tell Dion and sessions will be planned somewhere that works for you.
  • Sensory needs: lighting, music and noise levels adjusted where possible. Ask, and it’s done.
  • Knowing what to expect: session plans shared in advance whenever possible, so you know what to expect.
  • Instructions your way: visual guides, demonstrations, written steps, verbal coaching or a mix.
  • Your pace: sessions from 30 minutes to 1 hour, with breaks whenever you need them.
  • Support people: if you’d like a family member, caregiver or support worker with you, just let Dion know.

Known limitations

We check this website ourselves, but it hasn’t been formally tested by an independent accessibility auditor yet. Some things may still be missed. The contact form is delivered by a third-party service (Web3Forms). If the form doesn’t work for you, please email or call Dion instead.

Tell us what isn’t working

If anything on this website or in a session is hard to use, please let Dion know. Feedback is always welcome, and Dion aims to reply within 24–48 hours.
